# About Me | My Birth Philosophy I am a passionate doula, childbirth educator, mentor, and maternal health advocate who believes birth is a sacred, powerful, and transformative experience. My approach is holistic, compassionate, culturally grounded, and centered on the unique needs of each birthing person and family. My philosophy is simple: As natural as possible, until you can't—whether by medical necessity or personal choice. I honor the body's natural ability to give birth while recognizing that every birth journey is unique. Whether unmedicated, medicated, induced, or cesarean, every family deserves education, encouragement, advocacy, and judgment-free support. I believe holistic birthwork nurtures the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and emotions. Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are journeys we were never meant to navigate alone. One of my core beliefs is that It takes a healthy village to raise a child. also believe it takes a healthy village to support a mother, strengthen a family, and nurture a community. We need a village that shows up, shares wisdom, respects boundaries, encourages growth, and provides support long after birth. With over 30 years of experience serving children and families as a preschool teacher, juvenile correctional officer, social worker, mentor, community advocate, and birthworker, I bring compassion, knowledge, and lived experience to my work. I believe in meeting families where they are, honoring their experiences, and creating safe spaces where they feel heard, respected, and empowered. My purpose isn't to direct your birth journey, but to walk alongside you, help you make informed decisions, trust your voice, embrace your strength, and build the support system you deserve. I believe birth is more than bringing a baby into the world; it's about nurturing the mother, strengthening the family, honoring the journey, and growing the village.
